hello my name is Ken See and I'm the principal at Grandville Middle School we are a 7-8 building structured around teaming, which means every student is a part of a smaller team of students within our building we consider that a school within a school that means that every student would belong to a group of four teachers that meet weekly to discuss the needs of the students that are on their team this allows them to support the academic and social emotional needs of those students we offer a 7 period day which means outside of their four core classes students also get three electives each day we have several classes that students can choose from such as art, PE, all three musics, we have STEM, we have several different classes that students can choose to take outside their cores we have advanced classes for those students that qualify to earn high school credit we have four athletic seasons at the middle school and that allows students to try different activities to determine what they're most interested in we have over a dozen after school clubs that students can take part in again these are ways where students can find their group the people they want to hang out with and that is is important to them at this age we emphasize the three habits of mind of responsibility respect and resilience we ask students to come to school every day and to be nice to people to take care of their academic responsibilities and to work hard we ask students on a scale of 1 to 10 to do their personal best - Be an 11 - we look forward to having your child work with us at Grandville Middle School and go Bulldogs
